Service workers using PocketTip are solely responsible for understanding and complying with their own tax, income reporting, and regulatory obligations, including any obligations relating to income tax or goods and services tax (GST). PocketTip does not provide tax withholding, reporting, or compliance services on behalf of users.
PocketTip operates as a digital tipping platform that facilitates payments between customers and service workers through third-party payment service providers, including Stripe Connect. PocketTip does not operate as a bank, authorised deposit-taking institution, stored-value facility, wallet provider, or other regulated financial institution.
All payments made through the PocketTip platform are processed by Stripe via Stripe Connect in accordance with Stripe’s applicable terms and policies. PocketTip does not hold customer funds. Funds are processed and settled to service workers’ nominated Australian bank accounts using Stripe’s payment infrastructure.
Use of the payment functionality on the PocketTip platform is subject to Stripe’s legal documentation, including but not limited to:
Users may be required to agree to Stripe’s terms directly as part of the onboarding or payment process. PocketTip does not control the content of Stripe’s legal documentation and is not responsible for Stripe’s compliance, availability, or performance.
While PocketTip facilitates tipping transactions, PocketTip does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free payment processing and is not responsible for delays, failures, reversals, chargebacks, or errors caused by Stripe or other third-party service providers.
PocketTip charges a platform fee and applies payment processing fees, which are clearly disclosed to customers before a tip is submitted. PocketTip is not currently registered for GST, and no GST is charged on PocketTip fees at this time. Fee structures may change in the future, subject to notice provided through the platform.
PocketTip does not warrant that the platform will be available at all times or that access will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. Access to the platform may be suspended, limited, or terminated at any time for maintenance, security, operational, legal, or technical reasons.
PocketTip is not liable for any loss or damage arising from platform outages, payment processing delays, system failures, data transmission issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
The PocketTip platform may rely on, integrate with, or link to third-party services, websites, software, or content. PocketTip does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of any third-party services. Use of third-party services is subject to their own terms, conditions, and policies.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PocketTip disclaims all liability for any loss, damage, cost, or expense (including indirect, incidental, or consequential loss) arising out of or in connection with the use of, inability to use, or reliance on the PocketTip platform or any information made available through it.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with this disclaimer or the use of the PocketTip platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
